This project involved the complete refurbishment, extension and loft conversion of this 1930’s house within the Hampstead Garden Suburb Conservation Area, N2.
The client wanted to open up the whole of the ground floor into an open plan area whilst still being able to close this of into smaller rooms if required. This was achieved by using large Oak sliding pocket doors that when closed created intimate and private spaces as family needs changed.
An oak floor was run up the wall to a large extension to add warmth, texture and a feature view from throughout the ground floor area of the house. By using a large rooflight, natural light washed down onto the timber and walls to enhance the quality of the materials.
